At Chiltern Primary School we believe that all young people should have the opportunity to live healthy and active lifestyles. Physical activity has numerous benefits for both children's physical and mental wellbeing. It aslo improves behaviour and enhances academic achievements.
We have welcomed the Government’s announcement in November 2020 to continue to provide additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. We are committed to using this resource to develop high quality PE lessons, raising attainment in swimming, developing the daily mile, alongside greater opportunities for sporting competitions and clubs for all our young people. We strive to build physical activity into the whole school day and are developing active lessons and lunchtimes.
Sport Premium Grant
Funding for schools will be calculated by the number of primary aged pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11). All schools with 17 or more primary aged pupils will receive a lump sum of £16,000 plus a premium of £10 per pupil.
