Safeguarding

Chiltern Encompass.png

Our school is proud to be an Operation Encompass School. This means we are part of a national initiative that works in partnership with local police forces to support children and young people who are affected by domestic abuse.

Through Operation Encompass, the police notify us usually before the start of the next school day if a child in our care has been involved in, or exposed to, a domestic abuse incident. This timely information sharing enables us to provide immediate and tailored support to help safeguard the child’s wellbeing and ensure they feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Being an Operation Encompass School reflects our ongoing commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child.

We take very seriously our responsibility to safeguard both children and adults. Chiltern Primary School operates a rigorous and robust recruitment process that gathers evidence about candidates’ suitability to work with children as well as their suitability for the post at all stages in the recruitment process. High levels of vigilance are maintained through rigorous monitoring post appointment. Our children’s health, safety and welfare are a priority throughout our whole school.

We have rigorous procedures in place which address inappropriate behaviour and support children to assess their own risks.
