Hydrogen Cars Workshop with Northern Gas Network

Students from Chiltern Primary School and hosts The Boulevard Academy had an amazing workshop this morning with Dave Rockett, the Net Zero Educator from the Northern Gas Network. The students, who are part of the schools' Eco Committees, impressed Dave with their knowledge of the Climate Crisis but also learned stacks more. Dave has already been into a number of our schools.

We had a great interactive session, with students learning about hydrogen, and how his could be another possible alternative to fossil fuels. Dave showed how hydrogen can be taken from water and used to power vehicles. Our students undertook an experiment to show how hydrogen can be produced and then used this technology to drive model cars, complete with hydrogen-powered fuel cells.

As well as being a learning experience, it was certainly a fun activity, especially with the hydrogen car grand prix.
