Chiltern's Eco Team met today to look through their latest Spring actions, which are forming part of their C3 Eco Excellence Challenge. They are well on with their WOW Travelling to School, which they started in November. Lots of children have earned their November & December badges and are working towards their January ones. By travelling to school in an eco way they are being healthier and saving fuel. Reps were also going back to their classmates to tell them about a WOW badge design competition.
This year, the school has decided to get rid of glue sticks. So far this year, they have already saved £200 and stopped 10kg of plastic waste from old glue sticks going into Landfill.
In class, lots of pupils are using reusable drinks bottles, which also saves plastic.
The school is also working with Recycling Youth & Humber Forest to plant shrubs and trees on the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds. These will include 29 Beech, 23 Bird Cherry, 19 Dogwood, 29 Hornbeam plus 3 Apple trees in the Wildlife area.
In October, they launched the Schoolcycled bottle top scheme. They have already collected two full bags. Reps are going to remind their classmates to keep on doing this.
The Reps are going to present a powerpoint in an assembly. They ended their meeting today by deciding who was going to do each slide in the assembly.

Great post! The Chiltern Primary C3 Eco Challenge Spring Meeting is such an inspiring way to get young minds engaged in sustainability and environmental awareness. It’s great to see students actively participating in eco-friendly projects and learning how their actions can make a real difference. Events like Explainer Videos animation not only educate but also empower the next generation to take responsibility.
